The Frontier Regiment of the High Plains
150th Anniversary Commemorations of the Red River War
Because Billy Dixon was among the key figures during the Red River War, as well as a recipient of the Medal of Honor for actions during this time, the Panhandle Masonic Cowboy Hall of Fame was privileged to be invited to attend the Sesquicentennial Remembrances of the Red River War sponsored by the Frontier Regiment of the High Plains. Commemorations were held at the major battle sites across the Panhandle. Our thanks to them for allowing us to participate in the reenactments. Their dedication to heritage education through these historical reenactments and commemorations. Our communities are enriched through their historical accuracy and knowledge of Panhandle history.

The Frontier Regiment of the High Plains’ commitment to history enhances our heritage and deepens the understanding of our past. Don’t miss them when they gather for their next historical reenactment!
