2024 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

2024 HALL OF FAME INDUCTION CEREMONY AND EXHIBIT

November 9th, 2024

HUTCHINSON COUNTY MUSEUM

BORGER, TEXAS

We were very proud to partner with the Hutchinson County Museum as the host for our 2024 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Exhibit. It’s justly proper and fitting, since our honoree is Hutchinson County Legend: Plainsman, Pioneer, Buffalo Hunter and Medal of Honor Recipient, Billy Dixon.

Bro. Dixon was the first man to be made a Master Mason in Hutchinson County, and we’re happy to be assisted with this years ceremony by our Masonic Brothers from Billy Dixon Lodge No. 1369, in Fritch. Read the history of their great lodge here. Read Bro. Billy Dixon’s masonic history here.

The Hall of Fame presented the brothers from Billy Dixon Lodge a small shadow box containing a replica 1874 Medal of Honor and a photo of Bro. Billy Dixon.

Museum Director Clay Renick and his staff were very welcoming to Panhandle Masons, and were instrumental in creating custom graphics, providing space for Buffalo hunting displays, and hosting our induction ceremony. Thank You! Your assistance was invaluable, as well as you generous support for Panhandle Masonic history.

Additionally, the museum has a very well done Billy Dixon display, containing several personal artifacts belonging to Dixon.

Local Masons had a great afternoon of history and fellowship. The Panhandle Masonic Cowboy Hall of Fame was especially pleased to be able to honor a great Panhandle pioneer and Mason, and to recognize the hard working Masons at Billy Dixon Lodge No. 1369-Thank yo Brothers for you assistance!

…But those days are gone forever, and we must contend ourselves with the present and make the best of our opportunities. Coming generation will never know the trials and hardships we endured, We helped build a great empire in the west.

Let it be governed justly and made to serve the needs of humanity.
