May 2024 update: Panhandle Masons are so grateful to have the opportunity to share the stories of these great Rangers and Masons in such a warm and welcoming venue. We are gratified and overwhelmed by the responses we’ve received and hundreds of visitors that toured the museum exhibit. The Museum did such a wonderful job curating this exhibit, we just had to showcase the setting. Click on the link above to see more. We are currently working on our 2024 inductees-stay tuned for the details!

The Masons of the Panhandle are very proud to bring to Pampa “TEXAS RANGERS AND MASONS” exhibit to the WHITE DEER LAND MUSEUM, 112 S. Cuyler in Pampa. We are indebted to the Museum’s director, Mrs. Anita Gullett for her generosity in hosting this exhibit.

When the Panhandle Masonic Cowboy Hall of Fame decided to induct local Texas Ranger Masons from the Frontier Regiment days and past and living Pampa native Masons and Rangers, we had no idea what great response and support we’d get. This special exhibit is the culmination of the cooperation between Panhandle Museums and historic families. We are honored to tell each of these these men’s stories, and we think you’ll find them amazing.

Please take a few minutes to preview “2023 Hall of Fame Inductees”, the short biographies of the lives of the Texas Rangers that are honored in the Museum exhibit. Their lives and contributions to the Panhandle are the focal point of our exhibit.

Through the talent of Della Moyer, our exhibit brings these Rangers to life. Della has a lifetime of love for history and the Texas Rangers and Masons. Her late father, Mason Lewis Epps, was a longtime board member of the Former Texas Ranger Foundation. You’ve probably seen Della’s work in the White Deer Lands and also in Pampa’s Freedom Museum, incidentally directed by Della’s brother, Mason Andy Epps. Her work is superbly professional, and we are in her debt.

Silversmith Kevin Johnson has offered the loan of pieces of his private collection of Texas Ranger memorabilia to be displayed as well. Kevin has quite the collection; after all he’s been crafting the Texas Rangers badges for over 30 years and has been honored by Presidents, Texas Governors, Senators, Legislators, and Lawmen through out his career. We are so grateful to Kevin for his enthusiasm for and help with this project. Learn more about this fine man here .

The Masonic Lodges of Pampa and the Panhandle hope you will take time to visit the WHITE DEER LAND MUSEUM and tour the exhibit. We hope you’ll learn the impact the lives of these early Texas Rangers and Freemasons had on the Panhandle. Our mission is to showcase for you, the legacy these Rangers and members of the Masonic Fraternity left for us that shaped our Panhandle Spirit and continued to influence our area and culture over the last one hundred and fifty plus years. And we want to show everyone that the Panhandle Masonic Fraternity is still a powerful force of good men, contributing to our State and Communities, thereby continuing the positive influence on the Panhandle Spirit.

After all, we’re not just men. We’re Masons.
